12/02/16 Friday Letter

Friday, December 2,  2016

Dear Families,

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful vacation last week.

Last Monday was Parent Teacher Conferences. If you were unable to attend your student(s) conference, please contact your student(s) teacher(s) to arrange a conference. The teachers have wonderful things to share with you about your student(s) and the progress they are making!

The JFK Girls Scouts troop is collecting items for the Food Shelf during the month of December. They will be placing a box in the main lobby. Please feel free to donate any non-perishable food items for the food shelf. The JFK Student Council is also collecting food for the Food Pantry in the classrooms. This gives our families two options to donated non-perishable items to the Food Bank during a very busy time of year!

Thursday, December 15th is the JFK winter performance. For our new families, this is an amazing night with a whole school performance, and well as individual grades. Students work incredibly hard to master songs to perform for their families and friends. Students love the opportunity to dress up for a big performance. Therefore, we will not be asking the students to wear school shirts.

On Saturday, December 17th 9am until noon, the PTO is hosting a pancake breakfast and gift wrapping. It is $5 per person or $20 max per family for the breakfast. All the proceeds go to the WSD PTO, which helps to support all of our students.

We had a fantastic All School Celebration right before vacation. Already this week we have had multiple classes fill their class jars and dump them into the Heart Monitor! Ask your student(s) about how they earned HEARTS this week.

Have a great weekend.

Sara Raabe

JFK Principal
