Light Snow, and 33 °F | Feb 26th: No School

Friday, December 1, 2017

Dear Families,

We had snow, hail, rain, and sunshine this week! Each day feels like a new adventure in the weather.

The November Shout Out Award winner is Kari Bohlen. Students and staff can fill out a Shout Out Award for any adult at JFK. At the end of each month, all of the nominations are taken out, and the JFK Leadership team chooses one randomly. Do you know an adult at school you want to recognize? Stop by and fill out a nomination form. They are next to the Heart Monitor by the JFK Office.

Old Spokes Home is holding their annual Kids Bike Bonanza event. At this event, children ages 3-8 years old can receive a free bike and helmet. There are 140 bikes and helmets available. The Holiday Kids Bike Bonanza takes place on Thursday, December 14th, 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm at Sustainability Academy, 123 North Street, Burlington. Preregistration is required and capped at 140. You  can register on the Old Spokes website:

The performance is  December 14th. Students that are performing should arrive at 6 pm, and brought to their classrooms. The performance starts at 6:30. The acoustics in the gym means that people who are talking in the audience can be heard by everyone. In years past it has been very difficult to hear the performances. Please support our students’ hard work by showing appropriate audience behavior, and ensuring that all children that are not performing are well supervised. This way we can all enjoy their hard work.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Sara Raabe

JFK Principal
