Education and Professional Experiences
After graduating from Winooski High School in 2002, I went on to the University of Vermont to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. I graduated from the University of Vermont in May 2006 with a Bachelors Degree in Education and a minor in English. Since then, I have taught in Bristol, Monkton, Sudbury and now Winooski. In Bristol, I taught 4th-6th grade reading, and left to take a teaching position in Monkton. In Monkton, I taught 4th grade for two years. I also ran their after school program. After Monkton, I went to teach in Sudbury. In Sudbury, I taught a 3-4 combination for two years, a 1-2-3 combination and a 2-3-4 combination.

What has been your greatest learning experience? (in or out of school)
My greatest learning experiences came when I left the comforts of home and went to live on my own and go to college. It was a great learning curve to motivate myself when I didn’t have parents telling me to do my homework and it was a very rewarding challenge.

Who do you admire and why?
I admire Mrs. LaForce who has had an impact on the teacher that I have become and helped to make my decision final to become a teacher and make a difference in the lives of children.

What do you love about your current WSD position and the WSD community?
I loved being able to come back to Winooski where I grew up and make a difference in the community that made a difference in my life as a child.
