I sing with Bella Voce Women’s Chorus of Vermont. This is a 45 member group that sings locally and has toured Austria and Italy. I enjoy being outside and I try to include outdoor activities in my life as much as possible. We have a large families and spend as much time as possible with them. Our families are in Arizona, Texas, Washington, Florida, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Education and Professional Experiences
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johnson State College. My areas of concentration were music and education.
What has been your greatest learning experience? (in or out of school)
I have taken singers to Washington DC and to New York City to participate in mass singing performances. I was invited to be a Guest Teacher at a private school in Thailand where I worked with students on how to sing and to read and write music.
Who do you admire and why?
Anyone who tries.
What do you love about your current WSD position and the WSD community?
I love working with the students who truly want to learn and give their best efforts as they move through the learning process. I love to sing and to provide support for students who love to sing. I also love playing the piano and enjoy working with students who share their desire to make music with the piano. It is a joy for me when students discover their “A-ha” moment when the pieces of the puzzle come together and something wonderful is created. It is a real joy to share our music with the community and find how much they truly love our music.
