My wife and I live in Jericho. Together we enjoy gardening, cross country skiing and music. We enjoy being with family as well as going to our favorite vacation destination of Ogunquit, Maine.
Education and Professional Experiences
From when I was young, my parents instilled the importance of education. I graduated from Rice High School in South Burlington. After that I completed undergraduate and graduate work from The University of Vermont with a Masters degree in Elementary Math Education.
Fortunately I was able to teach in my home town, beginning at Memorial School teaching grades 3/4. When Memorial School closed, I taught grades 2-4 at John F. Kennedy Elementary. I also wore the hat of Reading/Math interventionist, Literacy Coach and most recently Math Coach.
What has been your greatest learning experience? (in or out of school)
A “life changing experience” occurred when my best friend encouraged me to attend square dance lessons. We also learned numerous line dances. These were memorable times and encouraged me to share them with my students at Memorial School. This experience also created some special memories during my daughter’s wedding.
Who do you admire and why?
It is often said that behind every successful man stands a supportive wife. I am thankful that Denise has been such an inspiration for myself. Her organizational skills, and insightful ideas have helped me be a better person and teacher.
What do you love about your current WSD position and the WSD community?
I am very fortunate to work with such dedicated and supportive professionals, who together strive to make a difference in the lives of the students we serve.
