Parents and Community Together with Schools
Parenting: Assist families in understanding child and adolescent development and school expectations at each grade level. The district will create a plan to assist schools in understanding their families.
Communication: Communicate with families about school programs and student progress through timely, pro-active school-to-home and home-to-school communications using multiple channels.
Volunteering: Honor the collective wisdom and culture of the broader community in providing varied and meaningful volunteer opportunities to support students and school programs.
Learning at Home: Provide the tools, resources and information that parents require to support their child’s education at home.
Decision Making: Ensure diverse representation of families as equal participants on formal and informal school decision-making bodies.
Collaborating with Community: Build relationships with business, agencies and other groups that represent the diversity, wisdom and heart of the broader community to inspire student success.
