I have been at Winooski High School since 2006. I enjoy working with the students in classes and through a variety of extracurricular activities. This is a great community to work in.As the only business teacher at the high school, it is nice to see so many students with the entrepreneurial spirit. Entrepreneurship students have created wonderful business plans that have won awards at the state level and some have gone on to put those plans into action. My classroom is home to the School Store, which is run by students. Profits from the School Store fund a yearly business trip to either New York City or Boston and provides scholarships for college bound seniors. Students are also running an online Facebook page in which they sell donated merchandise from the community. We are always in search of donations. Students now have the opportunity to earn college credits in business classes from Community College of Vermont (CCV), Vermont Technical College (VTC) and University of Iowa.Winooski High School offers the following business classes to students:

  • Accounting I (Dual Enrollment option with VTC)
  • Personal Finance (Dual Enrollment option with CCV)
  • Entrepreneurship (College credit option with University of Iowa)
  • Information Processing (Dual Enrollment option with VTC)
  • Effective Communications
  • The Business of Board Games
  • and the possibility of Business Internships running the Student run businesses
