Friday, May 5, 2017

Dear Families,

Welcome back! I hope that everyone enjoyed their April break. We have entered the final stretch for this school year.

Today our second grade lead our All School Morning Meeting. They did a fantastic job leading the entire school through the activities. A great way to practice the Communications GX!

Teachers began the placement process for next year this week. Families should have returned your input sheet to your student(s) teacher before vacation. Please email your student(s) teacher directly if you have any information you would like to share with them about your student(s) placement for next year.

Teachers will be creating balanced class lists for next year over the next few weeks. Each class aims to be balanced in multiple ways to ensure that all students have a positive learning experience next year. Class lists will be completed by the end of May. At that point, the teachers meet with me to go over lists and make final changes. Students will find out who their teacher is on move up day, which is the last day of school. I know that some students find this experience stressful. If that is the case with your student, please have a conversation with them and assure them that we have wonderful teachers at JFK and they will have a great experience no matter whose class they are in!
