Dear Families

It is officially October! The first full month if school is done (congrats!), and everyone is actively back into the swing of things. At this point, classes have morning meeting and closing circle well established. During the month of October, each class will invite families in for a morning meeting. Invitations will go home, as well as emails, and reminders in the teacher’s weekly communication. We would love to have as many families as possible in to join students during their morning meeting. This is a great way for you to connect to your student’s classroom, peers, and teacher. It is also a fantastic way for you to experience a part of your student’s day that happens every day for them. Once you experience a morning meeting, you can use your new knowledge to start conversations at home about what happened at school.

Classroom teacher’s weekly communication vehicle should be well established by now. If you do not know how your student(s) teacher is communicating weekly with families, please contact them to find out how.

In the summer letters, teachers asked families how they would like to volunteer in the classroom. Some teachers have followed up on those letters already. If you said you would be willing to volunteer and have not heard from your student(s) teacher yet, you should be hearing from them in the next two weeks. If you want to volunteer and did not fill out a form, please contact your student(s) teacher to find out how you can help in the classroom.

Wednesday, October 11th is Walk to School Day. Staff will meet at the Rite Aid at 7:35 to walk with students to the school that morning.

Have a wonderful weekend.
