Dear Families,

Fall has finally arrived. This week the colder weather arrived, and with it that crisp fall air. The trees in front of JFK are beginning to change color and look beautiful!

This past Tuesday Sarah Murphy and I went to the Vermont Annual PBiS conference. We attended wonderful workshops. In addition, JFK was recognized as a PBiS School of Merit. This means that we had to show evidence of:

  • Implementing Universal PBIS with fidelity (measured as 70% on the Tiered Fidelity Inventory or 80/80 on the School-wide Evaluation Tool )
  • Using behavior data within a problem-solving framework to improve student outcomes
  • Completing the annual Self-Assessment Survey to help plan/revise implementation

I am so proud of all that JFK has accomplished within our first year and a half of implementing PBiS.

Winooski School District is collecting items for their 2nd Annual Clothing Drive from now until October 30th. We are looking specifically for gently used or new winter clothing and outerwear. We are currently in high need of winter jackets, snow pants, mittens/gloves, and boots for all ages up to 18. We also need winter clothing (long-sleeved shirts, pants and socks) for all youth sizes. Please NO evening wear, lingerie or costumes. We will accept undergarments if they are new and still in original packaging. Please contact Grace at or (802)383-6139 to schedule a time for collection pick-up.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Sara Raabe

JFK Principal
