Doodle 4 Google: Winooski Winner!

Google’s annual Doodle 4 Google competition based on the theme “If I Could Invent One Thing to Make the World a Better Place…” came to Winooski today!  Winooski 5th grader, Penny Ly was presented as one of 50 State winners.  Each of the 50 State winners win a trip to the Google Headquarters in California for the final awards ceremony on May 21st, 2014, an Android tablet, and a t-shirt printed with his or her doodle on it.  Congrats Penny, we are so proud of your creativity and hard work!

Doodles are judged based on the following three categories:

  • Artistic Merit: based on grade group and artistic skill.
  • Creativity: based on the representation of the theme and use of the Google logo.
  • Theme Communication: How clearly the competition theme is expressed in both the artwork and the written statement.
