I enjoy running and spending time outside with my family. I have an 8-year old daughter, a 1-year old daughter, and am excited to welcome a third daughter to our family this summer. I love to travel and enjoy family trips to Maine and Florida. I have been fortunate to also travel in Europe and study in Australia, both places I hope to return to in the future.
Education and Professional Experiences
I graduated from Mount Abraham Union High School and went on to obtain my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont, where I majored in Family and Consumer Sciences with concentrations in nutrition and human development. I continued my education through the Vermont Teacher Apprenticeship Program (TAP) which is now partnered with Champlain College. Through this program I had the opportunity to teach as an intern at Burlington High School and then came to Winooski Middle/High School, where I currently teach Health and Family and Consumer Sciences.
What has been your greatest learning experience? (in or out of school)
One of my greatest learning experiences has been, and continues to be, being a parent. I think it is amazing the things you learn from your children each and every day. Being a parent is a wonderful and challenging experience, much like teaching!
Who do you admire and why?
I admire my parents, for raising 3 kids and inspiring me to be the best person I can be.
What do you love about your current WSD position and the WSD community?
I love teaching Health at Winooski Middle/High School because it is so rewarding when students become excited about and motivated to make a real difference in their own personal health and well-being. I love that our Winooski community is unique and diverse and how students, staff, parents, and community members come together to make our community special.
